(1) Complete semen analysis include volume, liquefaction, viscosity, pH, concentration, morphology, motility, forward progression, and evaluation of extracellular artifacts.

(2) Viablity Assessment is usually employed in situations of sperm immobility. There are some instances when immotile sperm cells are actually viable. A viability stain can determine if the sperm is alive or not. Viable sperm exclude the stain, while dead sperm take in the stain.

(3) Peroxidase Stain is used to determine the concentration of white blood cells in semen sample. The presence of white blood cells in a semen sample (pyospermia) may indicate the presence of an infection in the reproductive tract.

(4) Quantitative Fructose test detects the presence of fructose in semen. Fructose is a marker for seminal vesicle function. Fructose is present in semen except when the ejaculatory ducts are obstructed or congenitally absent.

(5) Sperm washing include the double-wash, swim-up, gradient - medium, and retrograde methods.
